Every Sunday

Every Sunday 2pm – 4pm.  All Saints Church is open to visitors. This is a great opportunity to look around one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in Liverpool.

 

 

Every Monday 

Every Monday at 8 pm:  Childwall Abbey Hotel, Quiz Night with Helen (our social secretary) as the Quizmaster. Take your own pen and get an extra point. If you would like to be part of a team let Helen know at scra.social@gmail.com, or just join us at the Childwall Abbey Hotel. 

 

 

Every Tuesday

Every Tuesday from 4 pm – 6 pm –  The Board Treaders Drama Club

Every Wednesday

Every Wednesday 11am -12pm – Tai Chi sessions, in the Sports Centre of Hope University. The gentle movement, deep breathing, and mindfulness in Tai Chi promote physical and mental wellbeing. With a qualified instructor, all are welcome, no experience is necessary.  To book call 0151 291 2911

Every Wednesday, 12 – 1.30 pm Growing Spaces.
A relaxing space to unleash your creative side. A calm and creative space for arts, crafts,  and more. No skills are needed, crafting is optional. Come along and meet new friends. At Hope University, Conference Centre. Contact the community engagement team at cet@hope.ac.uk

Every Wednesday 7 -9 pm . Growing Old (Dis)Gracefully Dance Company.  Now at Hope University. A dance company for anyone between 45 and 80 years old.  For more information, click on the link or contact Judy Smith at godsdance@btinternet.com.   

 

 

Every Thursday

Every Thursday at 3-4 pm. Meditation in the peace of Hope University Chapel. This is a calm and relaxing guided session, come along for an hour and relax your mind and body, while meeting new friends. Every Thursday, starting back on Thursday 12th September. 7.15 – 8.30 pm Childwall Community Choir at Hope University Chapel. 
Everyone welcome. Email L16scra@gmail.com for more information, or visit the link above. Join us in the Chapel, where we will learn a range of popular songs. There’s no audition, just a warm welcome.
No charge for a chance to meet new friends and have a good time. We usually start singing at 7.15 pm but come at 6.30 and join us for a cuppa and a chat. Contact Bren L16scra@gmail.com 

 

 

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month  Book Club In Hope University Conference Centre. Our Community Book Club is a group of people who meet and discuss great literature together.

 

Every Friday 

Every Friday at 12:15  Liverpool Aquatic Centre Offers Low-impact circuit training for the over 50’s. Join the small group of regulars who meet each week. For more information on how to become a member and to book your place visit the website.

 

 

Other events not on every week 

 

Tuesday 3rd September 2-4pm. The Savoy Jazzmen will be doing their regular first Tuesday of the month performance at the Palm House, Sefton Park. Free admission and light refreshments are available. Drop in to have a great afternoon in a beautiful setting.

HERITAGE FESTIVAL at ALL SAINTS CHURCH

 

The Tower will be open and there will be fascinating tours of the cemetery where you can learn about the history of the area. 
Inside the church will be stalls and displays. You won’t want to miss it. 

 

 

Sunday 8th September, 2 – 4pm. The Savoy Jazzmen have their monthly jazz session at the Childwall Abbey Hotel. They will be playing in the bar, so admission is free. Why not book a table and have a Sunday roast as you listen to the band?   It’s a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.   Ring 0151 722 5293

 

 

Sunday 8th September at 2pm   Rubbish Friends litter picking group, will be meeting at the Childwall Triangle and the Fiveways. Come and join us. We need as many volunteers as possible. We have equipment that you can use. 

 

 

Sunday 15th September – Friends of Childwall Woods and Fields are holding their regular Maintenance and Conservation Event
Meet at the Main Entrance by the lodge on Childwall Abbey Rd at 1pm

This event has been cancelled due to the unsuitable weather.

It’s down to volunteers to maintain this beautiful nature reserve so join us next month. The time and place will be shown on the website.  Stay for refreshments and a chat afterwards.

 

 

Wednesday 18th September at 2 pm. Tea @ 2 pm. You’re invited to All Saints Church Hall for a bottomless teapot, a slice of cake, and a large helping of good company. All for £1. Any questions, contact Helen Ford on 0151 428 9153

 

 

Friday 27th September at 3pm – Project Linus knitting /crocheting group, at the Childwall Abbey Hotel. We crochet and knit blankets, which are then given to children and babies going through a traumatic time or chronic illness.
